ACCA Uganda, Deloitte launch CFO Awards

ACCCA Uganda has signed strategic partnership with the Deloitte today. The Launch of Inaugural annual CFO Awards was done last Monday at Serena Hotel in Kampala, which involved the singing of a Memorandum of Understanding; to mutually co-operate in the advancement of the accountancy profession in Uganda. This is through a series of initiatives including, CFO awards and CFO forums survey over the next three years.

The CFO awards; that were launched aim at raising the profile of CFOs and the role they play in developing good business and finance practices and embedding environmental and broader social issues into strategic decision making. Speaking at the press launch, Beatrice Isagayite the Head of ACCA Uganda; said that the CFO awards are an initiative to recognize the contribution that CFOs make in the Organizations. She also added that; the initiative builds further on ACCA’s commitment to develop finance professionals the world needs and who are fit for the future, she said.

The wards will have five categories which include; CFO of the Year, Public Sector CFO of the Year Award, Young CFO of the Year Award, Finance Transformation Award and the Strategy Execution Award. Taking part is an excellent opportunity for organizations, finance teams and individuals within those teams; to raise their profile by being recognized publically. This is in regard for their innovative approach to doing business.

“One can self-nominate or be nominated by members of his or her finance team. The nominee must be Ugandan resident, members of a recognized professional accounting body and has been a Chief Financial Officer or Finance Director for at least three years”, added Isagayite. All the Finalists and award winners will be announced at the exclusive CFO Awards Gala dinner which will be held on 19th October 2017.
