Fresh Dairy, companies convene for KCCA Partnership

Under the theme; “Building Partnerships for a better Nakawa”, Fresh Diary and over 100 companies operating in Nakawa division convened recently; for the Kampala Capital City Inaugural meeting. The meeting was aimed at appreciating the companies’ contributions to the economy, capture their challenges and collectively develop sustainable mechanisms to address problems.

The Nakawa Partnership Breakfast Meeting was held at Uganda Manufacturers’ Association (UMA). The Mayor Nakawa Division his Lordship Ronald Balimwezo Nsubuga; mentioned that challenges affecting organizations in Nakawa division ranges from policy issues, irregular electricity, high water tariffs and poor assessment among others. He noted that there is need to address these challenges, in order to do better business to build the economy.

Speaking during the event, Joseph Awino, Fresh Diary Sales Manager explained that; Fresh Dairy has focused on transforming the factory in terms of increasing processing capacity, amount of milk purchased from farmers as well as putting in place quality improvements.

The Guest of Honour Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, officiated at the event. She thanked the Mayor Nakawa Division for organizing the meeting, adding that there is need to dialogue more often and sooner

Others present at the meeting include representatives from; Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) and Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), among others.
